Kevin Burden

Kevin is a media consultant who works with media houses and organisations worldwide.

During a BBC career spanning 20 years, he served as a news reporter, environment correspondent, programme presenter, producer, editor and manager.

As the Head of Training of the BBC’s international media development charity, the BBC World Service Trust (now BBC Media Action) he recruited, trained, inducted and supported hundreds of journalism and media trainers worldwide. He was the editorial lead behind the creation and development of the BBC’s online journalism training tool, iLearn, which was nominated for an e-learning age award for innovation.

Kevin has written a large volume of training materials for journalists and those who encounter them professionally. He has recently co-authored an online toolkit for the International Labour Organisation on reporting forced labour and fair recruitment.

Kevin is the holder of a Rolls-Royce-Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Award for Effectiveness in Training and is a trained PRINCE2 project management practitioner.

Kevin’s special interest is in making the creative skills and production techniques of broadcasting available to charities, advocates and educators worldwide.
